Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami, received on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at the Seat of the House in Rabat, the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Hungary, MP István Jakab, currently leading a prominent parliamentary delegation on a working visit to the Kingdom of Morocco.
During their encounter, the two parties commended the strong historical links uniting the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Hungary. They also expressed their aspiration to grant further dynamism to the parliamentary cooperation ties between the legislative institutions of both countries at the bilateral and multilateral levels.
On this occasion, the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Hungary underscored that his country considers the Kingdom of Morocco a distinguished strategic partner and that the two countries share the same values linked to preserving national sovereignty and territorial integrity of States, as well as the adequate management of migration. In the same regard, he reiterated his country's support for the autonomy plan presented by the Kingdom of Morocco as a permanent solution to the artificial conflict around the Moroccan Sahara.
MP István Jakab also highlighted the role of parliamentary diplomacy in reinforcing cooperation ties between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Hungary, noting the importance of intensifying dialogue and coordination and exchanging visits and experiences between the legislative institutions of the two countries.
For his part, the Speaker of the House of Representatives gave an overview of the promising opportunities to reinforce the economic, commercial, tourism, and technological exchange between the two countries. He also highlighted the major projects launched by the Kingdom of Morocco under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may Allah assist him, in infrastructure, renewable energies, climate change management, water desalination, social protection, the healthcare system, education, and other sectors.
Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami also expressed his thanks and appreciation for the position of the Republic of Hungary in support of the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco and its respect for the sovereignty of States and non-interference in their internal affairs. In the same regard, he noted the positive dynamism characterizing the national cause and the broad support for the territorial integrity of the Kingdom.
The meeting featured the attendance of the Chairperson of the Morocco-Hungary Parliamentary Friendship Group, Rep. Abdelfattah El Aouni, and the Ambassador of the Republic of Hungary to Rabat, H.E. Miklós Tromler.
