Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami, Holds Talks with Chairperson of the Foreign Policy Committee at the Swiss National Council

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami, received on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at the Seat of the House in Rabat, the Chairperson of the Foreign Policy Committee at the Swiss National Council, MP Laurent Wehrli, currently on a parliamentary working visit to the Kingdom of Morocco.

In their talks, attended by the Chairperson of the Morocco-Switzerland Parliamentary Friendship Group, Rep. Khadija Oulbacha, and the Ambassador of Switzerland to Rabat, H.E. Valentin Zellweger, the two parties discussed the means to reinforce parliamentary cooperation. They also covered several regional and international questions of mutual concern. 

On this occasion, the Speaker of the House of Representatives underscored the importance of reinforcing constant communication, dialogue, and exchange of views between the two legislative institutions on the questions and themes inscribed on their agendas. He also stressed the prominence of exchanging experiences and expertise between them. 

The encounter was also an opportunity for the Speaker of the House of Representatives to shed light on the significant reforms conducted by the Kingdom under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may Allah assist him, as well as the evolution it has made in several fields, namely education, health, solidarity, social protection, migration, climate change, and water. 

For his part, the Chairperson of the Foreign Policy Committee at the Swiss National Council commended the quality of bilateral cooperation between Switzerland and the Kingdom of Morocco, expressing the strong desire of the Swiss Parliament to reinforce the friendship and cooperation ties with the Kingdom. 

It should be noted that the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami, received in May 2024 the Speaker of the Swiss National Council, Hon. Eric Nussbaumer, who led a prominent parliamentary delegation on a working visit to the Kingdom of Morocco.
