Geneva: Moroccan Parliamentary Delegation Takes Part in Review of the First Report on the Implementation of the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance

A high-level parliamentary delegation is taking part in the proceedings of the review of the First Report on the Implementation of the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance, held in Geneva, Switzerland, on September 24-25, 2024. 

The parliamentary delegation includes Rep. Said Baaziz, Chairperson of the Justice, Legislation, and Human Rights Committee; Rep. Houssain Ben Taieb, from the Group of the National Rally of Independents; Cllr. Salima Zidani, from the Group of the General Union of Moroccan Workers; and Cllr. Khalihenna El Guerch, Coordinator of the Group of the Democratic Labor Confederation. 

The Session features the presentation and discussion of the first report of the Kingdom of Morocco on the implementation of the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance before the Human Rights Council within the scope of an interactive dialogue between the official delegation and the Committee on Enforced Disappearances in line with the international commitments of the Kingdom of Morocco in human rights and to pursue the positive interaction of our country with the UN human rights mechanisms, by way of implementing the strategic vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may Allah assist and glorify him. 

This UN event falls within the scope of our country's engagement to fulfill its international commitments to human rights and interact seriously and regularly with the bodies concerned with these conventions, which is marked by a peculiar dynamic reflected through working on the presentation of the reports on time and participating in interactive dialogues with the UN oversight mechanisms, thus highlighting the national achievements and gains and the reforms introduced by our country in the field of human rights.
