Speaker of the House of Representatives and Speaker of the Bahraini Council of Representatives Laud the Efforts of the Leaders of Both Countries in Supporting Cooperation and Partnership between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Kingdom of Bahrain

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami, held talks on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at the Seat of the House in Rabat, with the Speaker of the Council of Representatives of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Hon. Ahmed Bin Salman Al Musalam, currently on an official visit to the Kingdom of Morocco at the lead of an important delegation. 

During their talks, the two parties underscored the importance of supporting and reinforcing bilateral cooperation means in light of the advanced historical ties linking the two countries under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may Allah assist him, and His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Sovereign of the sister Kingdom of Bahrain. 

On this occasion, Hon. Ahmed Bin Salman Al Musalam reiterated the steadfast position of the Kingdom of Bahrain in support for the Kingdom of Morocco and the initiative of autonomy in the Moroccan Sahara under the sovereignty of the Kingdom and the integrity of its territories. The Speaker of the Bahraini Council of Representatives also noted the support of his country to the Kingdom of Morocco in the face of any act that targets its sovereignty or national unity and referred to the decision to inaugurate a General Consulate of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the Moroccan city of Laayoune, which confirms the Moroccan sovereignty and reflects the strength of the Bahraini-Moroccan ties. The Bahraini official also commended the participation of the Head of the Moroccan Government on behalf of His Majesty King Mohammed VI in the proceedings of the Arab Summit in Bahrain. 

Besides, he also praised the distinguished parliamentary ties, the levels of coordination between the two institutions, and the notable positions of the Kingdom of Morocco towards the Kingdom of Bahrain, and underlined the commitment to opening new bilateral cooperation horizons in development fields, such as in economy, investments, the consolidation of commercial exchanges, and food security in a way that serves the interests of both countries and their peoples. 

Hon. Ahmed Bin Salman Al Musalam expressed heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathy to the Moroccan Sovereign upon the passing of the mother of His Majesty, HRH Princess Lalla Latifa, may her soul rest in peace, imploring the Almighty to cover the deceased with His vast mercy and welcome her into His vast paradise, and to grant the noble Royal family and the Moroccan people patience, strength, and solace.

For his part, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami, praised the unwavering stances of the Kingdom of Bahrain in support for the Kingdom of Morocco and the initiative of autonomy in the Moroccan Sahara under the Moroccan sovereignty and the integrity of its territories, and its support against any act that targets the Kingdom’s sovereignty, national unity, and territorial integrity.

The Speaker of the House also praised the level of bilateral and multilateral relations linking the two countries and commended the results of cooperation during the last decade, which have included the exchange of visits and expertise, coordination in various regional and international parliamentary fora, and the reinforcement of constant and effective communication between the two legislative institutions, their members, and their General Secretariats. 

During the meeting, the two parties expressed their high esteem for the efforts of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Sovereign of the sister Kingdom of Bahrain, in supporting joint Arab action and achieving peace and security in the region. They also praised the gains achieved under the presidency of the Kingdom of Bahrain over the 32nd Arab Summit, as well as the recommendations and resolutions the Summit culminated in. The two parties also underscored the support for the initiative of the Kingdom of Bahrain in calling for and hosting a global conference for peace in the Middle East and its support for the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people. 

The talks featured the participation of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Kingdom of Morocco, H.E. Mr. Khalid bin Salman Al Musalam, Rep. Mohsen Ali Al Asbool, Deputy Head of the delegation, Rep. Mohammed Musa al-Balooshi, Rep. Hanan Mohamed Ali, Rep. Mahmood Merza Fardan, Rep. Ali Majed Alnoaimi, Rep. Ali Saqer Al Doseri, and H.E. Rashid Muhammad Bunajma, the Secretary-General of the Council of Representatives.

The meeting was also attended by Rep. Nabil Dakhch, Chairperson of the Morocco-Bahrain Parliamentary Friendship Group, and H.E. Mr. Najib El Khadi, Secretary-General of the House of Representatives.
