Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami, received on Monday, June 24, 2024, at the Seat of the House in Rabat, the First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Malawi, Mr. Madalitso Kwaderanji Kazombo, currently leading a prominent parliamentary delegation on a working visit to the Kingdom of Morocco.
The meeting was an opportunity for the Speaker of the House of Representatives to shed light on the major development projects launched by the Kingdom of Morocco under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may Allah assist him, noting in this respect the initiatives of His Majesty to reinforce South-South Cooperation and his commitment to achieve global development in Africa.
The two parties discussed the means for reinforcing cooperation between the Moroccan House of Representatives and the National Assembly of the Republic of Malawi. In this regard, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami stressed the importance of exchanging experiences and sharing expertise between the two legislative institutions in parliamentary action, administrative management, and digital transition.
For his part, the First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Malawi noted, on behalf of the parliamentary delegation, the importance of this visit in solidifying the cooperation ties linking the two friendly countries and their legislative institutions.
Mr. Madalitso Kawderanji Kazombo added that the Republic of Malawi considers the Kingdom of Morocco a strategic partner and expressed the desire of his country to strengthen cooperation with the Kingdom of Morocco at the levels of economy, agriculture, trade, tourism, and other areas.
The meeting featured the presence of Rep. Aziz El Fidi, Chairperson of the Morocco-Malawi Parliamentary Friendship Group at the House of Representatives; H.E. Kennedy Bisani Lweya, the Chargé d’affaires at the Embassy of the Republic of Malawi in Rabat; and the members of the National Assembly of the Republic of Malawi: MP Lilian Estella Patel, MP Georges Charles Zulu, MP Noah Freeman Chimpeni, MP Crispin Christopher Mphande, and some executives of the Assembly’s Administration.
