Strengthening parliamentary cooperation between Morocco and the United Kingdom is the focus of a visit by the Speaker of the House of Representatives (Lower House), Rachid Talbi El Alami to London on Tuesday.
On this occasion, Mr. Talbi El Alami held a series of meetings with the aim of strengthening coordination within regional and international parliamentary organizations, promoting the sharing and exchange of experience at both political and administrative levels and showcasing the strategic projects launched by Morocco as well as the country's institutional experience.
Talbi El Alami held talks with the Speaker of the House of Commons, Lindsay Hoyle, before exchanging views with the Head of the Commons Interparliamentary Relations Office, Lynne Gardner, and her counterpart in the House of Lords, Susie Latta.
The Speaker of Lower House then attended a parliamentary session, before meeting the Secretary General of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, Stephen Twigg. He also held talks with members of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Morocco and its chair, Conservative MP Heather Wheeler.
The group, mustering 25 MPs from different political backgrounds, made a working visit to Morocco last April, including a visit to the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, where its members learned about the development dynamic in the Kingdom's Southern provinces.
