Speakers of the Moroccan House of Representatives and the Omani Shura Council Commend the Distinguished Ties between the Two Countries

Speaker of the House of Representatives Rachid Talbi El Alami held talks on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at the House, with the Speaker of the Shura Council of the Sultanate of Oman, the Hon. Khalid Bin Hilal Bin Nasser Al Maawali, currently on a working visit to our country at the head of an important delegation.

The meeting was an opportunity where the two parties lauded the fraternal, friendly and mutual esteem ties linking the two countries and their peoples under the leaders of the two countries. In this respect, Speaker of the Omani Shura Council Khalid Bin Hilal Bin Nasser Al Maawali confirmed the solidity and diversity of cooperation between the two countries. He specifically noted the exchange of experiences and expertise in training judges. In this context, he stated that a significant number of judges and chief justices in the Sultanate of Oman studied in the Kingdom of Morocco.

The Hon. Khalid Bin Hilal Bin Nasser Al Maawali praised the depth of the democratic practice in the Kingdom of Morocco and the positive atmosphere that reigned during the recent legislative elections, which were characterized by stability and respect for the will of electors.

For his part, Speaker of the House of Representatives Rachid Talbi El Alami welcomed the visit of the Omani delegation. On this occasion, he presented the significant reforms the Kingdom of Morocco witnessed under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him. In this vein, he highlighted the experience of equity and reconciliation and the construction of the modern democratic State that is built upon institutions, the insurance of liberties and rights, the Rule of Law, development, and the protection of citizens' dignity.

The meeting was also a chance for the two parties to exchange views on parliamentary action and debate ways to consolidate cooperation between the legislative institutions of the two countries. The Speakers also tackled several questions and issues of mutual interest.
