Speaker of the House of Representatives Receives the Secretary-General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation

Speaker of the House of Representatives ,Rachid Talbi El Alami, received, on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at the House of Representatives, the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), H.E. Hissein Brahim Taha, currently on a working visit to our country.

On this occasion, the Speaker of the House highlighted the role of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, as Chair of the Al Quds Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), in supporting the Palestinian cause and defending Al-Quds-al-Sharif. In this regard, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami noted that the Bayt Mal Al-Qods Acharif Agency, which is based in the Kingdom of Morocco and sponsored by His Majesty the King, contributes to important and concrete projects for the benefit of the locals of the Holy City.

In the same vein, the Speaker of the House of Representatives stated that the Moroccan Parliament, within the framework of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC), contributes effectively to the inculcation of solidarity and unity values among Islamic countries in meeting the challenges facing the Islamic world.

For his part, the Secretary General of OIC, H.E. Hissein Brahim Taha, expressed his gratitude for the role of the Kingdom of Morocco in establishing the Joint Islamic Action, recalling that the establishment of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) took place in Rabat in 1969, where the first meeting of the leaders of the Islamic world was held.

H.E. Hissein Brahim Taha took this opportunity to shed light on the challenges facing the Islamic world at the present time. In this respect, he underlined the importance of resolving conflicts through peaceful means, consolidating the values of tolerance and peace, ensuring food security, raising youth awareness, and investing in education.
