Speaker of the House of Representatives Receives Prominent Members of the International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami, received on Friday, July 29, 2022, at the seat of the House, a delegation of the International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration (IASIA), currently on a visit to the Kingdom of Morocco on the sidelines of the annual Conference of the Association, taking place under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may Allah aid him.

The meeting featured the presence of the Chair of the Communal Council of Rabat, Ms. Asmaa Rhlalou, the President of the Mohammed V University of Rabat, Mr. Mohammed Rhachi, and the President of the IASIA, Ms. Najat Zarrouk.

During the reception, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami presented the development of the Moroccan parliamentary experience and the gains achieved by the Kingdom of Morocco in consolidating democracy and the rule of law, and promoting human rights and liberties. In the same vein, he underscored the main prerogatives of the Parliament, mainly the House of Representatives, in light of the 2011 Constitution, mainly in legislation, Government scrutiny and control, and the evaluation of public policies.

On the same occasion, the Speaker of the House shed light on several questions raised by the Association members, mainly parity, the representation of women in elected bodies and decision-making positions, the role of civil society in managing public affairs, and the new policy of the Kingdom regarding migration.

It should be noted that the Conference of the IASIA features the participation of more than 65 countries from the five continents, represented by university professors, representatives of communes in Africa, and some officers of the United Nations.

Ms. Najat Zarrouk was elected President of the Association on Tuesday, July 26, 2022.
