Speaker of the House of Representatives Receives the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Kingdom of Morocco

Speaker of the House of Representatives Rachid Talbi El Alami received on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at the House, the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Kingdom of Morocco, H.E. Al Asri Saeed Ahmed Al Dhaheri.

The reception was an opportunity where the UAE Ambassador congratulated Mr. Rachid Talbi El Alami on his election to the Speakership of the House of Representatives. In the same respect, he commended the historical deep-rooted and fraternal ties linking the leaders of the two countries and the Moroccan and Emirati peoples, which have been gaining more strength. He also thanked the Kingdom of Morocco for its limitless support to the United Arab Emirates and the noble and humane positions of Rabat.

The Ambassador expressed his satisfaction, consideration, and support for any initiatives aimed at consolidating the bilateral parliamentary ties through the exchange of parliamentary experiences, expertise, and views on questions of mutual concern. Mr. Al Asri Saeed Ahmed Al Dhaheri added that the Morocco-UAE parliamentary links are distinguished and deeply rooted in history and that his country aspires to advance them on the bilateral and multilateral levels, and at the various fora through the exchange of visits, friendship groups and constant coordination.

For his part, Speaker of the House of Representatives Rachid Talbi El Alami hailed the deep historical and cultural ties linking the Kingdom of Morocco to the United Arab Emirates and the fraternal relations between the leaders of the two countries. In this context, the Speaker of the House of Representatives reaffirmed the positions of Rabat in support of the United Arab Emirates and the steps the latter has taken to defend its lands and ensure the safety of its citizens.

At the parliamentary level, the Speaker of the House highlighted the gains and dynamism the House of Representatives witnesses as it has managed to occupy a privileged position at the national level and within several regional, sub-regional and international parliamentary organizations and assemblies, which has made of it an institutional model. In the same respect, he underlined that the House of Representatives entertains good ties with its counterpart in the United Arab Emirates. He further noted the willingness of the House to share its expertise and experiences and open to new questions and spaces to consolidate the parliamentary relations further.

The reception by the House of Representatives of the UAE Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco was also an opportunity to discuss and exchange views on several bilateral regional and international parliamentary matters.
