Speaker of the House of Representatives Rachid Talbi Alami received on Thursday, November 4, 2021, Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Kingdom of Morocco, Thi Thu Ha Dang.
At the onset of this meeting, the Ambassador expressed her thanks to the Speaker of the House of Representatives for the warm welcome and reception. In the same vein, she congratulated him and also conveyed the congratulations of the President of the Vietnamese National Assembly for his election as the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the trust placed in him by the absolute majority of the members. Moreover, the Ambassador conveyed an invitation to the Speaker of the House from his counterpart, the Speaker of the National Assembly, to visit Vietnam to strengthen the bilateral and multilateral parliamentary relations and foster coordination in the various regional and international parliamentary fora.
The Ambassador noted that the parliamentary relations between the two countries have seen a remarkable development in recent years. This development culminated in a cooperation agreement between the Moroccan House of Representatives and the Vietnamese National Assembly in 2017, and by the accession of the House of Representatives to the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) as an Observer Member in 2020. The Ambassador commended the distinctive and historical ties between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, which celebrates this year its 60th anniversary.
For his part, the Speaker of the House thanked the Ambassador for her visit and requested that she extends his consideration and esteem for the congratulations to the President of the National Assembly of Vietnam. In the same respect, he invited him to visit the Moroccan House of Representatives with a parliamentary delegation to discuss the means for deepening cooperation and openness to novel prospects and spaces in a way that serves the national interests of both countries.
