Speaker of the House of Representatives Rachid Talbi El Alami received on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at the House, the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the Kingdom of Morocco, Jumana Suleiman Ghunaimat.
At the start of the meeting, the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan congratulated Mr. Rachid Talbi El Alami on his election to the Speakership of the House. In the same respect, she commended the deep-rooted and long-standing relations linking the leaders of the two countries and the brotherly Moroccan and Jordanian peoples. The Ambassador also expressed her consideration and admiration of the Moroccan experience that overlaps with the Jordanian experience on several levels.
The Jordanian Diplomat called for consolidating the bilateral ties between Rabat and Amman by exchanging parliamentary experiences and expertise in questions of mutual interest. Ms. Jumana Suleiman Ghunaimat noted that the parliamentary connections linking the Kingdom of Morocco and the Kingdom of Jordan are excellent and have historical depth. She also highlighted that her country aspires to advance the said relations at the bilateral and multilateral levels and in the various fora through the exchange of visits, friendship groups, and continuous parliamentary coordination.
For his part, Speaker of the House of Representatives Rachid Talbi El Alami praised the deep historical and cultural links shared by the Kingdom of Morocco and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the brotherly relationship between the leaders of the two countries, His Majesty King Mohammed VI and His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein, may God protect them. The Speaker of the House also lauded the level of parliamentary relations between the two countries, which must be consolidated to preserve the gains, achieve accumulation, consolidate communication between the two countries' parliamentarians, and coordinate at the bilateral and multilateral levels.
During this meeting, Mr. Rachid Talbi El Alami recalled the gains and dynamics achieved in the Kingdom of Morocco at the level of institutional construction, the entrenchment of democracy, human rights, economic take-off and the social State. In this respect, he underlined that the Moroccan House of Representatives had achieved a distinguished position in the regional, sub-regional and international parliamentary unions and assemblies, which has turned it into an institutional example. He added that the House of Representatives is willing to share its expertise and experiences with its counterpart in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The reception by the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Jordanian Ambassador formed an opportunity to exchange views on several international and regional bilateral parliamentary questions.
