Speaker of the House of Representatives Receives Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Brazil

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami, received on Monday, November 13, 2023, at the Seat of the House in Rabat, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Brazil to the Kingdom, H.E. Alexandre Guido Lopes Parola, on the occasion of his courtesy visit to the House of Representatives.

The talks covered the strength of the diplomatic relations between the two countries, dating back to 1884, as the Kingdom was the first African country to recognize the independence of Brazil in 1822. The two parties also discussed the strategic role of the two countries and the importance of solidifying the bilateral and multilateral ties between the House of Representatives of the Kingdom of Morocco and the Brazilian Chamber of Deputies. Besides, the two parties also tackled the exchange of experiences and expertise, and the imperative of coordinating in the various regional and international parliamentary fora.

The meeting of the Speaker of the House of Representatives with the Brazilian Ambassador was also a good opportunity to exchange views on the role of legislative institutions in promoting world peace and security and building lasting dialogue and communication bridges.
