Speaker of the House of Representatives Rachid Talbi El Alami received on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at the House, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the Kingdom of Morocco, Ladislav Škeřík.
At the onset of the meeting, the Speaker of the House of Representatives lauded the good and historic ties linking the Kingdom of Morocco to the Czech Republic and the dynamic fruitful bonds of cooperation between the legislative institutions of the two countries at the bilateral and multilateral levels.
In this respect, Mr. Rachid Talbi El Alami informed the Czech Ambassador that the Moroccan Parliament finalized the formation of the parliamentary friendship group (Moroccan side), which should meet its counterpart in the Czech Parliament at its earliest convenience to advance the bilateral parliamentary relations and tackle the questions of mutual concern.
The Speaker of the House also expressed his willingness to consolidate the parliamentary ties at the level of the Speakership of the two legislative institutions, through meeting with the Speaker of the Czech Chamber of Deputies Markéta Pekarová Adamová on the sidelines of the meeting of the “Visegrad+Morocco” group that will take place in March 2022 in Budapest, Hungary.
The two parties also discussed the institutional twinning project to be launched between the Moroccan House of Representatives and numerous parliaments of the EU countries, including the Czech Parliament. They also tackled the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco, where the Czech Diplomat expressed his country’s support to it. In the same respect, he highlighted his hopes to find a political solution to this cause under the auspices of the United Nations and in line with its relevant resolutions.
The reception by the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Czech Ambassador was also an opportunity to exchange views and discuss several bilateral, regional and international questions of common parliamentary interest.
