Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami received, on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at the seat of the House, the Ambassador of Australia to Rabat, H.E. Michael Graeme Bruce Cutts.
At the onset of the meeting, the Australian Ambassador, H.E. Michael Graeme Bruce Cutts, expressed his heartfelt thanks and esteem to the Speaker of the House of Representatives for the warm welcome. On the same occasion, he commended the relations between the two countries, that are based on mutual respect. Similarly, the Australian Ambassador expressed his country's aspiration to consolidate its ties with Rabat at the commercial and economic levels, support investment opportunities, and exchange experiences in priority areas like agriculture and renewable energies. Besides, H.E. Michael Graeme Bruce Cutts stressed the vital role of the legislative institutions of the two countries in giving new impetus to these relations and reinforcing the chances of constant communication and dialogue, recalling the essential roles of both countries’ communities abroad.
For his part, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami commended the good ties linking the Kingdom of Morocco and Australia, which have not been impacted by geographical distance. The Speaker also highlighted the importance of exchanging experiences and expertise to reach the aspired and constant convergence, expressing the strong will to give new impetus to bilateral parliamentary cooperation, especially given the numerous questions in which the two countries share an interest. Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami also noted that the Kingdom of Morocco has always been and still is a pole of peace and stability, one of the political points of convergence between Rabat and Canberra.
During this meeting, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami, and the Ambassador of Australia, H.E. Michael Graeme Bruce Cutts, stressed the importance of exchanging and institutionalizing visits to reinforce multilateral parliamentary dialogue and coordination.
