Speaker of the House of Representatives Rachid Talbi El Alami held talks on Thursday, March 3, 2022, with the Speaker of the Bahraini Shura Council, the Hon. Ali Bin Saleh Al Saleh and his delegation. The talks were held on the sidelines of the participation of Bahrain in the 11th Congress of the Association of Senates, Shura and Equivalent Councils in Africa and the Arab World, organized in the Kingdom of Morocco.
At the onset of their meeting, the Hon. Ali Bin Saleh Al Saleh commended the quality of the deeply-rooted historical Morocco-Bahrain ties. In this respect, he noted, “Our relations are entrenched in history and built upon fruitful cooperation between the leaders of the two countries. We will work together to advance these ties to face the common challenges.”
For his part, Speaker of the House of Representatives Rachid Talbi El Alami welcomed the Hon. Ali Bin Saleh Al Saleh and his delegation. In the same vein, he lauded his role and the Morocco-Bahrain ties under the wise leadership of the two countries' leaders. In his statement, he stressed the importance of unifying and intensifying the efforts to address the current juncture at the health, economic, political and social levels.
The Hon. Ali Bin Saleh Al-Saleh confirmed this premise and emphasized the imperative of continuous cooperation and coordination. Furthermore, the Speaker of the Bahraini Shura Council reiterated his country’s support for the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco. He further stated that it is a patriotic cause for his country as well. In the same context, he hailed the stability the Kingdom of Morocco enjoys under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him.
The two parties concluded the meeting by discussing several parliamentary questions of mutual interest. They also called for joining efforts and utilizing their constitutional prerogatives towards further cooperation between the two legislative institutions.
