Speaker of the House of Representatives Holds Talks with President of the Parliament of Latin America and the Caribbean

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami held, on Monday, June 13, 2022 at the House of Representatives, talks with the President of the Parliament of Latin America and the Caribbean, Hon. Silvia del Rosario Giacoppo, currently on a working visit to our country.

On this occasion, the two sides expressed their appreciation for the course of cooperation between the Parliament of Morocco and the Parliament of Latin America and the Caribbean, and agreed to strengthen and develop their partnership relations with a view to contributing to the consolidation of South-South cooperation.

In this respect, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami said that Morocco, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, works on laying the foundations of solid relations between the countries of the African continent and their counterparts in Latin America and the Caribbean.

For her part, the President of the Parliament of Latin America and the Caribbean, Hon. Silvia del Rosario Giacoppo, reviewed the timeline of cooperation within the framework of partnership with the countries of the region, noting in particular the opportunities and possibilities in fields of economy, trade, agriculture, culture…etc., and gave an overview of the composition and competences of the Parliament of Latin America and the Caribbean.

The Parliament of Latin America and the Caribbean comprises more than 20 parliaments representing the States of the region and having many conventions with international bodies and organizations. It is worth noting that the Moroccan Parliament enjoys an observer status in this organization.
