Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami held talks, on Friday, September 23, 2022, at the House, with a delegation from the Czech Parliament, on the sidelines of the participation of the latter in the inaugural ceremony of the Institutional Twinning Program linking the Moroccan House of Representatives, the French National Assembly, the Belgian Chamber of Representatives and the Czech Chamber of Deputies.
The Czech parliamentary delegation includes MP. Jaroslav Bzoch, Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee, MP. Petr Fifka, Deputy Chairperson of the European Affairs Committee, and Ms. Klara Ibrahim, Head of the Twinning Project at the Czech Parliament. During their encounter, the two parties discussed the means to advance cooperation between the two legislative institutions.
In this respect, the Speaker of the House of Representatives called for unifying views and positions in international bilateral and multilateral parliamentary fora. In the same vein, he stressed the important role of the two parliamentary friendship groups in extending bridges of communication, dialogue, and continuous coordination.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives also highlighted the reforms our country has witnessed in recent years, especially the ones related to consolidating democracy and promoting human rights. In the same context, he commended the positive stance of the Czech Republic regarding the question of our territorial integrity.
It should be noted that the Czech parliamentary delegation participated on Friday in the Inaugural Ceremony of the Institutional Twinning Program linking the House of Representatives of the Kingdom of Morocco, the French National Assembly, the Czech Chamber of Deputies, and the Belgian Chamber of Representatives, with the support of legislative institutions from four countries, including Italy, Greece, Portugal, and Hungary, and funding from the European Union.
