Speaker of the House of Representatives Holds Talks with Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami received on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at the House, the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Kingdom of Morocco, H.E. OKTAY SUDEF OGLU GURBANOV.

The two parties stressed the importance of reinforcing the bilateral and multilateral parliamentary ties through the extension of communication and cooperation bridges and the exchange of expertise and experiences between the legislative institutions of the two countries. In the same respect, they both stressed the excellent ties linking the two countries, based on mutual respect for their sovereignty and territorial integrity and the continuous support in the various regional and international fora.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Kingdom of Morocco, H.E. OKTAY SUDEF OGLU GURBANOV expressed his esteem for this reception, noting the respectful friendship and cooperation ties linking the two countries. He also highlighted the aspiration of Baku to advance its parliamentary, economic, and commercial relations with Rabat and to open several spaces for cooperation and coordination. Furthermore, the Azerbaijani diplomat extended his thanks to the Kingdom of Morocco for its noble positions in favor of the Republic of Azerbaijan and its causes in the different regional and international fora, as well as its respect for the international legality and countries' sovereignty. He also reiterated his country's commitment to supporting the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco.

For his part, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami underscored the excellent bonds between the two countries, which have common cultural and spiritual roots. In the same vein, he commended the convergence of views on several regional and international causes and the commitment to respect countries' sovereignty and territorial integrity and solve conflicts through pacific methods. At the parliamentary level, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami gave an overview of the progress of relations between the legislative institutions of the two countries during the last decade and the links that unite their parliamentarians in the many regional and international fora. On this matter, he underlined that these links would be further promoted through the exchange of visits and the reinforcement of the role of the two friendship groups. The Speaker of the House also seized this opportunity to extend an invitation to his counterpart, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Azerbaijan, to visit the House of Representatives, which would be a chance to discuss several parliamentary questions of mutual interest.
