Speaker of the House of Representatives Holds Talks with Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami received, on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at the seat of the House, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Rabat, H.E. Robert Dölger. The talks between the two parties focused mainly on the new dynamic in relations between the two countries and their historical depth, especially at the parliamentary level.

During this meeting, the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany stressed the entrenchment of the bilateral and multilateral parliamentary relations and stressed the need to further strengthen them through the exchange of visits between the Speaker of the House of Representatives and his counterpart of the Bundestag, effective and permanent communication between the two parliamentary friendship groups, and coordination in various regional and international parliamentary fora.

Besides, the two parties emphasized the crucial role of the legislative institutions of the two countries in strengthening economic, trade, industrial, and cultural cooperation and building bridges of multidimensional partnership based on mutual respect, deep political-parliamentary dialogue, and lasting cooperation.

This meeting was also an opportunity for the two sides to review the peculiarity of the parliamentary system in the two countries and the roles assigned to parliamentary diplomacy at the bilateral and multilateral levels so that it becomes effective and interactive with national, regional, and international issues that are listed as priorities on the agenda of joint parliamentary action.
