Speaker of the House of Representatives and Azeri Minister of Foreign Affairs Underscore Role of the Two Legislative Institutions in Consolidating Relations between the Two Countries and Creating Space for Dialogue under Mutual Respect for Sovereignty

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami, held talks on Monday, November 13, 2023, at the Seat of the House in Rabat, with the Azeri Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Jeyhun Bayramov, currently on an official visit to the Kingdom of Morocco on November 13-14, on the occasion of the Second Session of the Morocco-Azerbaijan Joint Commission.

During the talks, attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Kingdom of Morocco, H.E. Nazim Adil Oglu Samadov, the two parties underscored the quality of relations linking the two countries on the basis of mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity and continuous support in the various regional and international fora.

On occasion, the Azeri Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Jeyhun Bayramov, reiterated the unwavering position of his country in favor of the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco and its sovereignty over all its territory. In this same regard, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami, expressed his gratitude to the Republic of Azerbaijan for its position and constant support of the Kingdom's sovereignty over its entire territories during the various regional and international fora.

During the meeting, the two parties also noted the centrality of bilateral and multilateral parliamentary ties in reinforcing links between the two countries at all levels, particularly in economy, trade, and business. Said ties have been solidified in recent years thanks to the exchange of visits, the extension of communication and cooperation bridges, the sharing of experiences and expertise between the two legislative institutions, and coordination in areas of mutual parliamentary interest.

The talks between the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami, and the Azeri Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Jeyhun Bayramov, were also a suitable opportunity to exchange views on several questions inscribed as priorities on the agenda of bilateral and multilateral parliamentary relations.
