Speaker of the House of Representatives and Ambassador of the Republic of Sierra Leone Discuss Strengthening Ties between the Two Countries

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi El Alami, received on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, Mr. Atumanni Dainkeh, the Ambassador of the Republic of Sierra Leone to the Kingdom of Morocco.

At the onset of the meeting, the Ambassador of the Republic of Sierra Leone thanked the Speaker of the House of Representatives for his welcome and hospitality and congratulated him on his election to the Speakership of the House. He reiterated his prospect and interest in promoting the bilateral and multilateral parliamentary relations and strengthening Morocco-Sierra Leone coordination to the largest extent in the various regional and international parliamentary fora. According to Mr. Atumanni Dainkeh, the Kingdom of Morocco stood by the Republic of Sierra Leone and African countries, namely when it comes to the aid and assistance it offered them during health crises. On this occasion, the Ambassador commended the level of relations between Rabat and Freetown.

For his part, Speaker of the House of Representatives Rachid Talbi El Alami welcomed Mr. Atumanni Dainkeh, the Ambassador of the Republic of Sierra Leone to Rabat. In this respect, he highlighted the quality of the Morocco-Sierra Leone bilateral relations at different levels, which are based on the mutual respect of national sovereignty and defense of common vital interests. He further emphasized the necessity of promoting the bilateral parliamentary links through a friendship group and the exchange of visits and fostering multilateral parliamentary relations through regional and international parliamentary fora, especially the Conference of Africa-Latin America Parliamentary Unions scheduled for February 2022 in Panama.

The meeting between Speaker of the House of Representatives Rachid Talbi El Alami and the Ambassador of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Mr. Atumanni Dainkeh, also offered an occasion to discuss and exchange views on various issues of common parliamentary interest.
