Speaker of the House of Representatives and Ambassador of Japan Discuss Consolidating Parliamentary Ties

Speaker of the House of Representatives Rachid Talbi Alami received on Thursday, November 11, 2021, the Ambassador of Japan to the Kingdom of Morocco, SHINOZUKA Takashi.

At the onset of the meeting, the Japanese Ambassador congratulated Rachid Talbi Alami on his election as Speaker of the House of Representatives. Furthermore, Mr. SHINOZUKA Takashi lauded the good relations linking Rabat and Tokyo in the economic, commercial, industrial, and cultural fields. In the same respect, he expressed his appreciation of the wisdom of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, his directives and the measures adopted to limit the repercussions of Covid-19.

The Japanese Official noted that the orientations of his country's government aim for further openness on Africa and the issues of climate change and renewable energies. On this occasion, The Ambassador commended the energy policy of the Kingdom.

Additionally, Mr. Takashi stressed the good quality of the Morocco-Japan parliamentary ties and highlighted that his country aspires to consolidate them at the bilateral and multilateral levels through exchanging visits, forming parliamentary friendship groups, and coordinating at the international parliamentary fora.

For his part, Speaker of the House of Representatives Rachid Talbi Alami thanked the Ambassador of Japan, SHINOZUKA Takashi, for the visit and the congratulations. The Speaker also expressed his pride in the distinguished relations linking Morocco to Japan and of the commitment of Japan to the territorial integrity of the Kingdom and its defense of Morocco's vital interests at parliamentary fora.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives praised the good bilateral and multilateral Morocco-Japan parliamentary ties. In the same vein, he noted that the House of Representatives is open to all constructive initiatives and the parliamentary questions of mutual interest like climate change, renewable energies and technology development.

The Speaker added that he aspires to institutionalize the Morocco-Japan parliamentary ties at the bilateral and multilateral levels through converging views and positions regarding the shared parliamentary questions and by creating novel cooperation platforms.
