Moroccan Parliament Takes Part in the 28th Edition of the International Book and Publishing Fair on June 1-11, 2023

Conscious of the leading role of culture and sciences in shaping humans, enriching national awareness, and advancing societies, the two Houses of the Moroccan Parliament –House of Representatives and House of Councilors- take part in the 28th Edition of the International Book and Publishing Fair organized by the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication on June 1-11, 2023, under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God glorify him, through a pavilion whose construction and design reflect the architectural authenticity of the seat of the Parliament and its constitutional position.

This second-in-a-row participation falls within the scope of entrenching the gains of the parliamentary contribution during the previous edition, which enabled the legislative institution to deepen its responsible openness and efficient communication with the public attending the Fair, particularly intellectuals, creators, writers, readers, and students of schools, universities, and institutes, and other categories that form the essence of comprehensive development, contribute to the establishment of the bases of a society of science and knowledge, consolidate the Moroccan intellect, and reinforce the international cultural outreach of the Kingdom.

Similarly to last year, the public attending the Pavilion of the Parliament will be able to explore the book and documentary record of the House, in addition to the electronic materials it produces to document its major activities in its broad constitutional prerogatives and the major stages of its interactions at the local and external fronts. The guests of the Pavilion will also receive additional explanations on electronic screens and from parliamentary officials who will be at their service throughout the Fair.

The parliamentary participation in this prominent annual cultural event that attracts the attention of wide spectra of society aims to entrench the approach adopted by the House of Representatives and the House of Councilors in the area of Open Parliament, which intends the consecration of transparency, the effective implementation of the constitutional right to access information, and the simplification of information on the Parliament with regard to its formation, constitutional prerogatives, bodies, and administrative structures, in a way that reinforces citizens' political awareness and institutional belonging, enhances interest in public affairs, and contributes to the development of the democratic practice and culture in our country.
