The members of the Finance and Economic Development Committee at the House of Representatives received, on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, a delegation of the Finance and Budget Committee of the National Assembly of Niger, as part of their study visit to our country.
The meeting was attended by Rep. Alae-Eddine Bahraoui, Rep. Yasmine Lemghour, and Rep. Abderrahim Oisslam, members of the Finance and Economic Development Committee. The Nigerien delegation included Mr. Mamane Harouna, Mr. Salifou Moussa, and Ms. Amina Saminou Laouali.
During the meeting, the Moroccan side gave exhaustive explanations on the work of the Moroccan House of Representatives, particularly its Finance and Economic Development Committee. In this respect, Rep. Alae-Eddine Bahraoui shed light on the process of examination of the Finance Bill before its vote in the two Houses of Parliament, noting particularly the work of the Finance Committee and its contribution to the production of the new Investment Charter. The Representative also noted the creation of a new committee in charge of public finance control.
For his part, Mr. Mamane Harouna gave, on behalf of the Nigerien delegation, a brief overview of the work of the Finance and Budget Committee at the National Assembly of Niger, the work of the latter in general, its bodies, and the differences and similarities between the Moroccan and Nigerien Parliaments.
The two parties expressed their hope of advancing the bilateral relations between the two countries towards further improvement, especially following the positive evolution of ties between Rabat and Niamey at all levels. In the same vein, the two parties agreed on the imperative of consolidating these ties by holding other meetings to exchange experiences, especially with regard to public finance, as part of implementing the Memorandum of Understanding concluded on February 4, 2019.
