Buenos Aires: Speaker of the House of Representatives and Argentine Foreign Affairs Minister Discuss Means to Consolidate Bilateral Cooperation

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami, held talks in Buenos Aires with the Minister of Foreign Affairs in Argentina, Ms. Diana Mondino, on the sidelines of his participation on behalf of His Majesty King Mohammed VI in the investiture ceremony of the new Argentine President, H.E. Javier Milei, which took place on Sunday in Buenos Aires. 

In her statement, the Argentine Minister of Foreign Affairs noted that her meeting with the Speaker of the House of Representatives was highly fruitful as it covered several questions of mutual concern for both countries. She also stated, "Argentina aims to further consolidate the commercial and cultural ties with the Kingdom of Morocco, particularly that the two countries have complementary economies and share very diverse cultures." In the same regard, she noted that the two countries can achieve good goals together. 

For his part, the Speaker of the House of Representatives noted in his statement that the meeting covered several questions, including the consolidation of the excellent ties linking the Kingdom of Morocco to the Republic of Argentina. He added that the meeting also tackled the means susceptible to reinforcing and ameliorating said ties, particularly in trade. 

Besides, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami recalled the speech of His Majesty the King on the anniversary of the Green March, where His Majesty launched an important initiative aimed at reinforcing regional cooperation and sustainable development on the Atlantic coast to make it a bridge that links around 23 African States and a gate to the other Atlantic shore that hosts Latin American States, including Argentina.

The two parties also discussed the opportunity to benefit from the Moroccan experience in maritime fisheries, phosphate industries and the production of fertilizers, considering its being an agricultural country par excellence. 

Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami also underscored the convergence of views between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Argentina on several questions, commending the mutual support the two countries provide each other with in the various parliamentary and human rights international fora.
