Board of House of Representatives Holds Weekly Meeting on Tuesday, December 8th, 2020

The Board of the House of Representatives held its weekly meeting under the chairmanship of Speaker of House of Representatives Habib El Malki on Tuesday, December 8th, 2020. The meeting was devoted to control, legislation, and the work program of the House.

At the start of the meeting, the Board took note of the statement issued by the Royal Office, through which His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God protect him, gave his high instructions to the Government for the adoption of the free of charge vaccine against COVID-19 in favor of all Moroccans.

The Speaker and Board members expressed, in this meeting, their deep emotion and pride of the constant high royal solicitude of the Sovereign to his loyal people, his benevolence for all the components of the Moroccan people, and his generous attention to their concerns and their health conditions, reflected by his positions and decisions marked with strong feelings of a King beloved by God and by his people.

The Board of the House also reviewed the long journey since the outbreak of the pandemic and the efforts deployed by our country via its different components and administrative, security, military, medical, and educational workers under the leadership of His Majesty the King, may God protect him, to face this pandemic at the human, economic, and social levels. Besides, the Speaker and the Board of the House recalled with pride and honor the diplomatic achievements that strengthened and consolidated the feeling of belonging to this dear country, a feeling described by the Sovereign by saying that "the most precious sentiment in his life is his pride of being Moroccan."

Concerning legislation, the Board reviewed the text of the Finance Bill referred by the House of Councilors for second reading and reviewed the outcomes of the activities of the Finance and Economic Development Committee in its regard and the amendments approved by the Committee.

The Board also reviewed the report on the Government bill relative to trust services for electronic transactions. It has decided to schedule both bills in the agenda of the sitting held on Tuesday, December 8th, 2020.

Additionally, the Board reviewed the pace of work of the House and the agenda prepared regarding the legislative texts referred to it. In this respect, they recalled the monthly sitting devoted to examining and voting on parliamentary bills, previously set on Tuesday, December 22nd, 2020.

The Board reiterated its call for all the concerned committees to schedule and discuss the parliamentary bills approved by the Government.

As for control, the Board of the House set the agenda of the sittings scheduled for December 14th and 21st, 2020, to include the department of foreign affairs, African cooperation, Moroccan expatriates; the department of industry, trade, and green and digital economy; the department of national territory development, urban planning, housing, and city policy; the department of internal affairs; the department of agriculture, maritime fisheries, rural development, water, and forests; and the department of tourism, handicrafts, air transportation, and social economy.
