Board of House of Representatives Holds Weekly Meeting on Monday, June 28, 2021

Main Topics of the Meeting: Resolution of Arab Parliament and presentation of the interim report on the Government action

 

The Board of the House of Representatives held its weekly meeting under the chairmanship of Speaker of the House Habib El Malki on Monday, June 28, 2021. The meeting tackled several questions, including the resolution of the Arab Parliament regarding the Kingdom of Morocco, the presentation of the interim report on the Government action, and other questions relating to control and legislation.

At the onset of the meeting, the Speaker and the Board members recalled the conclusions of the meeting of the Arab Parliament and the supportive positions in favor of the Moroccan position regarding the resolution of the European Parliament on the bilateral crisis between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Kingdom of Spain.

The Speaker and the Board members lauded the noble positions expressed by the brotherly Arab delegations and the strong solidarity spirit that marked the resolution of the Arab Parliament, the credibility of its content, and its commendation of the vigorous efforts of the Kingdom of Morocco in combatting illegal migration, emanating from a strong political will and direct instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God protect him.

As regards control, the Board has set the agenda of the oral questions sitting of Monday, July 5, to cover economy and infrastructure.

Concerning legislation, the Board reviewed and referred to the Justice, Legislation, and Human Rights Committee two Government Bills relating respectively to regulating contractual volunteer work and to the composition of the General Inspectorate of Judicial Affairs, its functions, its organization rules, and the rights and obligations of its members.

For the work program of the House, the Board has decided to hold a legislative plenary sitting on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at 4:00 p.m. to examine and vote on the finalized bills.

Regarding the presentation of the interim report on the Government action, the Board has set Tuesday, July 6, at 11:00 a.m. as the date and time for its presentation by the Head of Government, and Tuesday, July 13, at 3:00 p.m. for the sitting devoted to its discussion.

As concerns the action of standing committees, the Board reviewed the Public Finance Control Committee’s report on the sector of public institutions and enterprises in Morocco, which covered 16 institutions in the presence of the ministers in charge of the sector and the general directors of those enterprises.
