The House of Representatives is participating, on July 4-8, 2023, in the proceedings of the 48thSession of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie in Tbilisi, Georgia.
The delegation of House of Representatives to this event includes members of the National Representation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie: Rep. Mohammed Ghayate, head of the delegation (Chairperson of the Group of the National Rally of Independents), Rep. Hussein Ouaallal (Group of the National Rally of Independents), Rep. Latifa Lablih (Group of Authenticity and Modernity), and Rep. Hachim Amine Chafik (Istiqlali Group of Unity and Egalitarianism).
The Session features the participation of 91 member Parliaments of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie. Within this framework, members of parliamentary representations will discuss and exchange views and best practices on a number of issues of common interest at working meetings of the Assembly's bodies: the Bureau, the Political Committee, the Committee on Education, Communication and Cultural Affairs, the Committee on Parliamentary Affairs, the Committee on Cooperation and Development, the Network of Women Parliamentarians, the Network of Young Parliamentarians, and the Plenary Assembly. These meetings aim to draw up and adopt recommendations, resolutions, and declarations on important and central political issues in the French-speaking space. These texts will then be forwarded to the Heads of State and Governments to achieve the objectives defined at the Francophone summits. These meetings also aim to encourage Parliaments to take legislative measures in their countries that meet the needs and aspirations of their peoples.
On the sidelines of this Session, members of the National Representation will hold bilateral meetings with participating delegations to build relationships and establish cross-border cooperation plans to consolidate the Kingdom of Morocco's presence in the global arena and defend its just causes.
