The House of Representatives is participating, on July 4-8, 2023, in the proceedings of the 48thSession of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie in Tbilisi, Georgia.
In this context, the head of the delegation and the Chairperson of the Group of the National Rally of Independents, Rep. Mohamed Ghayate, along with Rep. Latifa Lablih, representing the Group of Authenticity and Modernity, participated on Tuesday, July 4, in the meeting of the Bureau of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie. This meeting was dedicated to discussing and studying several important matters, including the approval of the report of the Bureau meeting held in Papeete on January 30 and 31, 2023, and the presentation by the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament of the activities of the 48th Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie. Furthermore, the participants attended a presentation by the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie on the activities of the Assembly for 2023 and ratified the financial report related to the 2023 budget bill.
In addition, this meeting tackled the International Parliamentary Cooperation Program for the same year, focusing on expectations and multi-party programs. The meeting also involved reviewing the draft strategic framework of the Assembly for the period between 2023 and 2027.
On the other hand, the Bureau deliberated on the approval of the report on common principles in the field of parliamentary assistance, as well as the report on combating climate change in the Francophonie region. The participants also reviewed the reports of the Standing Committees, Parliamentary Networks, and Regional Missions.
In the same vein, the delegation from the House of Representatives is expected to participate in the activities of the Network of Female Parliamentarians, the meetings of the Standing Committees, and the plenary sitting of the 48th Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie.
The delegation includes, in addition to Rep. Mohamed Ghayate and Rep. Latifa Lablih, Rep. Hussein Ouaallal of the Group of the National Rally of Independents and Rep. Hachim Amine Chafik of the Istiqlali Group of Unity and Egalitarianism.
