Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs, National Defense, Islamic Affairs, Migration, and Moroccan Expatriates Committee Receives Ambassador of the French Republic to the Kingdom of Morocco

Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs, National Defense, Islamic Affairs, Migration, and Moroccan Expatriates Committee, Rep. Salma Benaziz, received on Friday, November 1, 2024, the Ambassador of the French Republic to the Kingdom of Morocco, H.E. Christophe Lecourtier, in a meeting where the two parties examined the means for reinforcing the parliamentary follow-up of the dynamism marking the relations uniting the two countries. 

At the onset of the meeting, Rep. Salma Benaziz recalled the state visit of the President of the French Republic, H.E. Emmanuel Macron, to the Kingdom of Morocco upon the kind invitation of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may Allah assist him, on October 28-30, 2024; a visit that served as a new cornerstone in the exceptional and anchored partnership between the two countries. 

In this respect, the Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs, National Defense, Islamic Affairs, Migration, and Moroccan Expatriates Committee expressed her thanks regarding the position of the French Republic towards the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco, as was reaffirmed by the French permanent representative to the United Nations on October 31, 2024, in the context of adopting the resolution stipulating the extension of the mandate of the MINURSO for one more year, by the Security Council. 

For his part, the Ambassador of the French Republic underscored the importance of the friendship and fraternity ties linking the two countries, noting the pivotal role of the Kingdom as a gate towards Africa. In the same vein, he stressed the value and timeliness of strategic cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the French Republic, given the promising cooperation horizons it opens in different areas.
