Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami, held talks on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at the Seat of the House in Rabat, with an Australian parliamentary delegation led by Rep. Rowan Ramsey, currently on a working visit to the Kingdom of Morocco until November 2, 2024. The visit includes other meetings and field visits.
At the onset of the meeting, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami praised the dynamism marking the bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and Australia, reflecting the two countries' common will to build strong ties and strengthen friendship bonds.
During the meeting, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami noted that the visit of the Australian parliamentary delegation is of great importance, noting the Kingdom’s strong desire to reinforce parliamentary cooperation with Australia, as the latter is a bridge to Oceania.
In the same respect, the Speaker of the House of Representatives briefed the members of the Australian parliamentary delegation on the different forms of stability the Kingdom of Morocco enjoys and the progress it has achieved in several areas, in addition to the major projects it is conducting under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may Allah assist him.
For his part, the head of the Australian parliamentary delegation, Rep. Rowan Ramsey, underscored that the visit aims to solidify the cooperation and partnership ties linking Australia and the Kingdom of Morocco, particularly in vital areas, such as renewable energies and agriculture.
Besides, the Australian parliamentary delegation members, who visited the city of Laayoune yesterday, expressed their admiration for the manifestations of development in the Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra region on several levels. They also expressed their support for the sovereignty of the Kingdom in its southern provinces.
It should be noted that the Australian parliamentary delegation includes, alongside Rep. Rowan Ramsey (Liberal Party of Australia), Rep. Steve Georganas (Labor Party), Sen. Hollie Hughes (Liberal Party of Australia), Rep. Michael McCormack (The Nationals Party), and Rep. Warren Entsch (Liberal National Party of Queensland).
