Chairperson of the Justice, Legislation, Human Rights, and Liberties Committee, Rep. Said Baaziz, received on Monday, October 14, 2024, at the Seat of the House in Rabat, a delegation of the Commission on Delegate Affairs of the National Assembly of Vietnam, led by MP Nguyen Anh Tuan, currently on a working visit to the Kingdom of Morocco.
At the onset of the meeting, Rep. Said Baaziz commended the depth of the bilateral relations uniting Morocco and Vietnam, noting that the two countries share a common history of struggle for independence.
Besides, Rep. Said Baaziz expressed his readiness to advance cooperation and coordination between the two legislative institutions and work on ameliorating their working mechanisms to strengthen the bilateral ties between the two countries.
The meeting was an opportunity for Rep. Said Baaziz to note that Morocco has made giant leaps in establishing a comprehensive human rights system by implementing several qualitative human rights projects and initiatives, such as the Moroccan experience in transitional justice, in addition to other achievements in anchoring human rights.
In the same regard, Rep. Said Baaziz briefed the Vietnamese delegation on the position of the Justice, Legislation, Human Rights, and Liberties Committee within the Moroccan parliamentary system, whose Chair is exclusively conferred to the Opposition Groups. In this vein, he shed light on the role of the Committee and its significant contribution to legislation, control, and public policy evaluation, mentioning the main government bills approved by the Committee.
For his part, the Vietnamese parliamentary delegation expressed its desire to benefit from the Moroccan experience, particularly in legislation. In this context, the head of the delegation, MP Nguyen Anh Tuan, underscored the importance of exchanging experiences and expertise between the two legislative institutions in a way that contributes to advancing and reinforcing cooperation between them.
