Announcement of the Results of the Parliamentary Press Prize in Its Fourth Edition - 2024

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami, chaired on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at the Seat of the House, the Award Ceremony of the Parliamentary Press Prize in its fourth edition for 2024. 

In his address on this occasion, the Speaker of the House of Representatives noted that the objective behind the creation of this Prize is to crown the journalists interested in parliamentary affairs by means of recognizing their strenuous efforts and their contributions to promoting parliamentary action and disseminating parliamentary culture. The Speaker also lauded the works that run for the fourth edition of the Prize, reflecting the growing interest in parliamentary affairs. 

Besides, the Speaker of the House of Representatives called for ameliorating the Parliamentary Press Prize and granting it further momentum. He also added that as part of coordination with the House of Councilors, the Prize will be granted by the two Houses of the Parliament, and a comprehensive evaluation of the record of the four editions will be conducted while taking into consideration the recommendations of the juries that awarded the Prize since its creation in 2021. 

For his part, the Chairperson of the Jury of the Prize, Mr. Abdelaziz Romani, noted that the Jury deliberated professionally and objectively, following specific criteria to evaluate the running works that amounted to 28. He also praised the neutrality of the Speakership and Administration of the House regarding the Prize and proposed several recommendations that would ameliorate it. Then, the Chairperson of the Jury announced the awardees as follows: 

  1. Merit Prize went ex aequo to Omar Hafid (National Radio) and Hassan Aarab (hadath.ma);

  2. Paper Press Prize went to Abdelilah Chahboun (Al-Alam) for his article on “Legislation between Government and Parliamentary Bills: An Issue of Balance;”

  3. Electronic Press Prize went to Assiya Elomrani (Moroccan News Agency MAP) for her article on “Women’s Representation in the Parliament: From Political Empowerment to Demands of Equality and Parity;”

  4. Best TV Program Prize went to the Directorate of News Programs and Documentaries in 2M for the report on “The Implementation of the Investment Charter in the Eyes of Parliamentarians,” Jamaa Goulahsen; 

  5. Best Radio Program went ex aequo to Rabeh Mouloud (Al Amazighiya) for his report on “The Role of Parliamentary Diplomacy in Defending the National Cause,” and Zahra Ouahssain (Al Amazighiya) for her report on the “Parliamentary Conference on Interfaith Dialogue, organized in Marrakesh on June 13-15, 2024;”

  6. Best Picture went ex aequo to Abid Shaar and Ali Benachour.
