A parliamentary delegation led by Rep. Hassan Benomar (Group of the National Rally of Independents) is taking part in the proceedings of the 30th Session of the Regional Assembly of Africa under the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie (APF), which kicked off on Tuesday, May 28, in Yaoundé, Cameroon.
The delegation includes Rep. Hussein Ouaallal (Group of the National Rally of Independents), Rep. Latifa Lablih (Group of Authenticity and Modernity), and Rep. Hachim Amine Chafik (Istiqlali Group of Unity and Egalitarianism).
The Session's order of business includes the presentation of the reports on the activities of the African region by the Regional Delegate for Africa, the discussion of the political, social, and security situation in French-speaking African countries. It also includes the discussion of two main themes: "Resort to political dialogue and the work of State institutions,” and the “Roles and importance of parliamentary diplomacy in French-speaking Africa.”
The Session will also feature the amendment of the Rules of Procedure of the African Region and the elaboration of a draft to restructure the positions of responsibility in the African Region (2024-2026) within the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie.
On the sidelines of the Session, the Moroccan delegation will hold talks with other participating delegations to reinforce bilateral and multilateral parliamentary cooperation.
It should be noted that his prominent continental gathering is an opportunity for the representatives of the African National Representations within the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie to coordinate, hold talks, exchange views, and explore new horizons for dialogue to strengthen relations and inter-parliamentary cooperation within the French-speaking African space.
