A delegation of the Moroccan Parliament took part in the meetings of the Committees and the Fourth Sitting of the Fourth Session under the Third Legislative Term of the Arab Parliament, held on May 22-25, 2024, in Cairo, the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The order of business of the Committee meetings included the discussion of several important questions in the region and the developments on the Arab scene. The proceedings of the Committee on Legislative, Legal, and Human Rights Affairs agreed on establishing an action plan for cooperation with specific goals to be achieved according to a schedule set in cooperation with the Committee on the Arab Human Rights Charter in the League of Arab States. The meeting also featured the presentation of the second draft of the 2023 Report on the Situation of Human Rights in the Arab World and the bill on combatting bullying, which will be presented during the next meeting of the Committee following its amelioration.
The Committee on Social, Educational, Cultural, Women, and Youth Affairs discussed the developments of the Arab Strategy to Promote Community Action, the Conference on Protecting Social Values in the Arab World, and the progress of launching the Parliamentary Paper on Arab Women. Besides, the Committee also reviewed the drafting of the 2023 Report on the Social Situation in the Arab World, and the elaboration of a database gathering the Arab monuments that were destroyed, stolen, or tarnished. It also reviewed the resolutions of the 33rd Summit of the Council of the League of Arab States, held in the Kingdom of Bahrain in May.
For its part, the Committee on Foreign and Political Affairs tackled political and security developments in the Arab world and the current challenges the region faces. It also shed light on the role of the Arab Parliament in addressing said challenges and presented the final draft of the 2023 Report on the Political Situation in the Arab World.
Moreover, the Committee on Economic and Financial Affairs discussed the elaboration of an Arab Entrepreneurship Strategy and reviewed a bill regulating the combat against losses in food supply chains (food wastage). It also reviewed a memorandum on the economic resolutions issued by the 33rd Summit of the Council of the League of Arab States.
The proceedings of the Fourth Session of the Third Legislative Term of the Arab Parliament featured the convention of its Fourth Plenary Sitting, which discussed the report of the Committee on Palestine. In this regard, the participants reviewed the developments of the aggravating situation in Gaza and the efforts to impose a ceasefire. The participants also discussed and adopted the reports and recommendations issued by the standing committees.
