Chairperson of the Morocco-Zambia Parliamentary Friendship Group, Rep. Mohamed El-Hejira, held talks on Monday, April 22, 2024, at the Seat of the House, with a delegation of the Committee on Agriculture, Lands, and Natural Resources of National Assembly of the Republic of Zambia, currently on a working visit to the Kingdom of Morocco.
At the onset of the meeting, Rep. Mohamed El-Hejira praised the fraternal ties linking the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Zambia. He noted that the Kingdom, which grants great importance to South-South Cooperation, aspires to advance and develop the historically deep-rooted ties linking the two countries.
On the same occasion, Rep. Mohamed El-Hejira shed light on the progress achieved by the Kingdom of Morocco in agriculture thanks to several major plans and projects that it has conducted, including the Green Morocco Plan and the Green Generation Strategy, as well as its strategic choices to achieve sustainable food security. In the same respect, he underscored the strategic significance water security enjoys.
For their part, the members of the Zambian parliamentary delegation noted that this visit is a chance to explore the expertise accumulated by the Kingdom of Morocco in agriculture. They also commended the Kingdom's important achievements in this field and expressed their country's aspiration to copy the Moroccan experience in ameliorating agricultural produce in Zambia.
Besides, the two parties stressed the importance of parliamentary cooperation and coordination, which can be achieved by intensifying the exchange of visits and the sharing of expertise in a way that benefits the two countries and contributes to their prosperity.

The delegation of the Committee on Agriculture, Lands, and Natural Resources of the National Assembly of the Republic of Zambia includes MP. Maureen Mabonga, the Vice Chairperson, and the Committee members: Micheal Katambo, Andrew Tayengwa, Tyson Simuzingili, Lusale Simbao, Mweemba Malambo, Yotam Mtayachalo, Ackleo Banda, and Peter Phiri.
