Speaker of House of Representatives Habib El Malki chaired, on Monday, September 14th, 2020, at the House's headquarters, the second meeting of the thematic working group in charge of legislation on the healthcare system. The meeting defined the work axes and methodology, in addition to the Group’s structure and work program.
In this regard, the Group has defined three main axes through which it will address the most important issues relating to medical coverage, governance of the sector, the practice of the medical and paramedical professions, scientific research, infrastructure, and the healthcare system roadmap. The Group also discussed drawing up recommendations and proposals to upgrade the healthcare system of our country following the Royal vision that aims to provide social protection to all Moroccans and generalize it for the benefit of all social categories, as stated in the Royal speech delivered by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, on the occasion of the glorious Throne Day of this year.
Concerning its work methodology, the Group will hold internal meetings and hearing sessions with the sector officials, which will discuss high-priority topics. The Group will also organize study days that gather representatives of the different involved parties, experts, and researchers. The participants also agreed on forming task forces according to the defined axes and appointing two rapporteurs of the thematic working group, one of which is from the majority groups while the other from the opposition.
Given the importance of the legislation on the healthcare system and its impacts on all social categories, the thematic working group in charge of the legislation on the healthcare system calls on all citizens and concerned bodies to present their suggestions to enrich this work and improve it via the House’s website.
It should be noted that the House of Representatives formed the thematic working group in charge of the legislation on the healthcare system considering the timeliness of reforming the healthcare system of our country, which has become a priority in the agenda of the State and the concerned institutions, and following the provisions of the Rules of Procedure of the House of Representatives, particularly the articles in its Title 10.
