Statement of the House of Representatives on the Distressing Events in the Occupied Palestinian Territories

- Following with great concern and deep regret the developments and repercussions of the dangerous and distressing events in the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly in the Gaza Strip, for more than ten days, as innocent civilians pay the price of unprecedented military actions, violence coupled with total blockade, and the deprivation of more than two million Palestinians of their right to hospitalization and life necessities like water, electricity, food, and medication;

- Taking pride in the wise and insightful historical positions of the Kingdom of Morocco, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may Allah glorify him, the Chairman of Al-Quds Committee, in supporting the Palestinian population in its struggle for its legitimate rights guaranteed by international instruments and resolutions;

- Evoking the historical efforts and initiatives of the Kingdom of Morocco to establish just and lasting peace in the Middle East on the basis of an independent Palestinian State with Al-Quds as capital and its categorical rejection of violence;

- Recalling that the current situation in the region, as the Kingdom of Morocco, whose Sovereign, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, chairs the Al-Quds Committee, had previously warned, is a result of the political and diplomatic deadlock regarding the Palestinian Cause and the continuation of violations, unilateral measures, and settlement activities;

  • Reaffirms its appraisal of the communications conducted by Moroccan diplomacy under the high Royal directives to put an end to the war on Gaza and its surroundings, cease the suffering of civilians by lifting the blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip, discontinue the displacement of civilians and enable them to access life necessities and hospitalization, particularly security that civilians of the entire region must enjoy, and observe the provisions of the international humanitarian law.
  • Demands the cessation of this suffering and the immediate termination of the war in a way that opens horizons for diplomatic and political action within the framework of a process that ultimately leads to establishing an independent Palestinian State endowed with institutions, internationally recognized borders, and Al-Quds as capital.
