Speaker of the House of Representatives Rachid Talbi El Alami is taking part in the meeting of the Bureau of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie (APF), held via videoconference on January 27-28 in Libreville, Gabon, in order to consolidate the ties of the House with the francophone States.
Mr. Rachid Talbi Alami occupies the position of Vice-President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie, whose Bureau’s meeting will discuss several important questions, including the political situation of some francophone countries and parliamentary cooperation and partnerships. The meeting will also feature the presentation and discussion of several reports of the Assembly.
It should be noted that the House of Representatives of the Kingdom of Morocco previously held some sessions of the African Regional Assembly (19th session in May 2011, 25th session in May 2017 and the 27th session in May 2019). The Assembly is an affiliate to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie, which was established in Luxembourg in May 1967, as a forum for discussion, presentation of proposals and exchange of information and experiences. The Assembly involves several parliamentary representations from the five continents.
The House of Representatives accessed the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie in 1979.
