Speaker of the House of Representatives Represents His Majesty the King at Investiture Ceremony of Paraguay's New President

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami, represented His Majesty King Mohammed VI on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, in Asunción, at the investiture ceremony of Paraguay's new President, H.E. Santiago Peña.

The investiture ceremony took place at the Palacio de Los López in Asunción in the presence of many of the region's Heads of State, including the President of Brazil, H.E. Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva; Argentina's President, H.E. Alberto Fernández; Uruguay’s President, H.E. Luis Lacalle Pou; Chile’s President, Gabriel Boric, and the King of Spain, His Majesty Felipe VI. The ceremony also featured the presence of other delegations representing around 90 countries

The Speaker of the House of Representatives was accompanied by the Kingdom's Ambassador to Asunción, H.E. Badreddine Abdelmoumni.

His Majesty the King had sent a message of congratulations to H.E. Santiago Peña following his election as President of the Republic of Paraguay.

In this message, the Sovereign expressed his determination to work with President Pena to strengthen the strong bonds of friendship that unite the two countries and develop bilateral cooperation in various fields to serve the interests of the two friendly peoples and consolidate South-South cooperation.
