Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami received on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at the seat of the House, the Luxembourger Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Jean Asselborn, currently on a working visit to the Kingdom of Morocco.
The meeting was an opportunity to exchange views on the means to consolidate relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and Luxembourg, and generally between the Kingdom of Morocco and the European Union. The two parties also tackled several questions of mutual concern and stressed the importance and role of legislative institutions and parliamentarians.
On the same occasion, the Luxembourger Minister for Foreign Affairs expressed his country's will to solidify its economic ties with the Kingdom of Morocco. In the same respect, he revealed that a high-level delegation of Luxembourger businessmen will be visiting the Kingdom of Morocco to explore investment opportunities and creating economic partnerships.
For his part, the Speaker of the House of Representatives lauded the strong links between the two countries. In this regard, he noted that they share the same values of democracy, freedom, human rights, tolerance, and commitment to world peace, stability, and security.
During the same encounter, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami presented the various achievements of the Kingdom of Morocco under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God glorify him. In the same vein, he gave a brief overview of the 2011 Constitution, and the latest development of the Moroccan Sahara question. The Speaker also shed light on the competencies, formation, working methods of the House of Representatives, and its relations to the various branches and institutions.
The reception by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami, of the Luxembourger Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Jean Asselborn, was also an occasion to discuss and exchange views on several regional and international questions inscribed as priorities on the agenda of bilateral and multilateral parliamentary action.
