Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami received on Monday, September 26, 2022, at the seat of the House, the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee for Brotherhood with Maghreb States at the Jordanian House of Representatives, Rep. Mohajjim Al-Soqoor, and the Representatives Talal Al-Nosoor and Abdullah Awaad. The talks between the two parties focused on consolidating parliamentary friendship and brotherhood ties, exchanging experiences and expertise, and advancing bilateral relations.
After exchanging formalities between the two parties, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami highlighted the historically entrenched and excellent ties linking Rabat and Amman, which is reflected in the convergence of views on several common questions. The Speaker of the House also highlighted the depth of the historical and cultural ties uniting the Kingdom of Morocco and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the strong brotherhood bonds between their two leaders. Additionally, the Speaker commended the good bilateral parliamentary ties, which have to be further consolidated to preserve the gains, achieve accumulation, and reinforce communication between parliamentary with a view to achieving bilateral and multilateral coordination and to open up to new questions of mutual parliamentary concern.
Besides, the Speaker of the House of Representatives recalled the achievements and dynamic the Kingdom of Morocco has realized in institutional building, democracy, human rights consolidation, economic take-off, and the establishment of the Welfare State. The Speaker also stressed that the House of Representatives has reached a distinguished position at the national level and within several regional, continental, and international parliamentary bodies and organizations. In the same respect, he noted that the House remains ready to share and exchange its experience in this area with its counterpart of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
For his part, the Chairperson of the Jordanian Parliamentary Group for Brotherhood with Maghreb Countries, Rep. Mohajjim Al-Soqoor, and his entourage commended the authenticity of Morocco-Jordan ties and the depth of the historical and brotherhood ties uniting their two leaders.
On the same occasion, the Chairperson of the Jordanian Parliamentary Commission for Brotherhood with Maghreb States, and his entourage, expressed their satisfaction with the level of bilateral and multilateral parliamentary ties, noting that this visit is a direct reflection of the friendship and brotherhood links between the two countries.
During the same encounter, Rep. Mohajjim Al-Soqoor handed the Speaker of the House of Representatives a letter from his Jordanian counterpart. In the same respect, he stressed the importance of consolidating the ties between the two legislative institutions by exchanging visits of the Speakers, the two parliamentary friendship groups, and parliamentarians from both countries. The Jordanian Representative also shed light on the importance of working to extend lasting bridges of communication between the Moroccan and Jordanian Houses of Representatives.
