Speaker of House of Representatives Receives Interim Charge d'Affaires for Embassy of Qatar

Speaker of House of Representatives Habib El Malki received on Monday, November 24^th, 2020, at the House's headquarters, the interim Charge d'Affaires for the Embassy of Qatar in Rabat Khalid Bin Mohammed Al-Dosari.

At the start of the meeting, the interim Charge d'Affaires for the Embassy of Qatar reiterated his country's support for the territorial integrity of the Kingdom and the non-offensive operation led by the Royal Armed Forces to open and secure the Guergarate buffer-zone. In the same respect, he noted the telephone talks between the Emir of Qatar His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani and His Majesty King Mohammed VI last week.

Mr. Al-Dosari affirmed the keenness of the Qatari Shura Council to consolidate cooperation with the Moroccan House of Representatives and intensify the exchange of expertise and experiences between the two legislative institutions, lauding the Moroccan parliamentary experience.

On his part, the Speaker of the House of Representatives expressed his gratitude and appreciation for Qatar's supportive position towards the territorial integrity of the Kingdom. He stated, "The cause of the territorial integrity of the Kingdom is sacred for all Moroccans, and we consider the unity of people and integrity of countries the cornerstone of security and stability around the world."

The Speaker lauded Qatar's democratic development under the leadership of His Highness the Emir, commending the decision to hold direct elections of the members of the Shura Council next year. Mr. El Malki expressed his strong will to advance the relations between the two legislative institutions and work with his counterpart, the President of the Qatari Shura Council, to find new cooperation and solidarity prospects.
