Speaker of the House of Representatives Receives Delegation of the American Jewish Committee

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami, received on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at the seat of the House, a delegation of the American Jewish Committee, currently on a working visit to the Kingdom of Morocco.

The AJC delegation includes Mr. Jason Isaacson, Mr. Michael Feldstein, Ms. Iris Mushin, Ms. Anne Myers, Mr. Elliott Rose, Ms. Anne-Sophie Sebban-Bécache, and Mr. Benjamin Rogers.

The talks between the two parties highlighted the depth of bilateral and multilateral parliamentary cooperation. The parties also stressed the importance of parliamentary coordination through extending lasting consultation and coordination bridges and exchanging visits, which would consolidate dialogue and tolerance. Moreover, they commended the depth of the historical Morocco-US ties and lauded the unwavering position of Washington with regard to the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco.

On the same occasion, the AJC delegation expressed their support for the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco and Rabat's positions. Besides, they praised the development of the southern provinces of the Kingdom of Morocco and the major projects the Kingdom has launched to achieve development in all its dimensions. In the same regard, they underscored the important role of the Kingdom of Morocco at the regional and international levels in promoting tolerance and dialogue, and consolidating global peace and security for the benefit and prosperity of humanity.

For his part, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami, gave a presentation on the continuous engagement of the Kingdom of Morocco in consolidating dialogue, entrenching religious and cultural tolerance, countering extremism and hatred, and resolving conflicts in pacific manners, which is the policy reflected by the House of Representatives in its bilateral and multilateral parliamentary ties, particularly with the parliaments with whom it shares the same values and priorities.

It should be noted that the American Jewish Committee was launched in the early 1900s as an international space for dialogue and reflection. It is an organization that intends to defend the civic and religious rights of Jews, entrench tolerance, and reject hatred.
