Speaker of House of Representatives Habib El Malki received, Tuesday, February 18th at the House’s headquarters, Cuba’s new Ambassador to Morocco Javier Domokos Ruiz, currently on a courtesy visit following his appointment to the Kingdom.
During the meeting, the two parties stressed the importance of advancing bilateral relations between Morocco and Cuba and starting a new phase of cooperation between them following the restoration of diplomatic relations and the appointment of Ambassadors to both countries.
On this occasion, the House’s Speaker noted the strategic orientation of the Kingdom in consolidating South-South cooperation under the enlightened leadership of HM King Mohammed VI. He also noted the vast number of cooperation projects launched by His Majesty with several African countries, especially ones in vital sectors like infrastructure, agriculture, industry, etc.
As for parliament, Mr. Habib El Malki called for intensifying exchange of visits between both countries’ parliamentarians. He also invited the Speaker of the Cuban National Assembly to perform a working visit to Morocco to discuss means of advancing bilateral relations.
For his part, Cuba’s Ambassador to Morocco expressed his country’s keenness to solidify its relations with Morocco in all areas, lauding the Kingdom’s leadership in renewable energies, and noting the existence of huge and various opportunities for cooperation between the two countries.
The Cuban Ambassador reviewed the significant reforms and changes happening in Cuba, expressing his will to work on bringing the two countries and their peoples closer.
