Speaker of House of Representatives Receives Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Morocco

Speaker of House of Representatives Habib El Malki held talks, on Friday, February 19th, 2021, at the House's headquarters, with the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Morocco, Ahmet Aydin Dogan, in a courtesy and friendship visit following the end of his diplomatic mission in the Kingdom.

During the meeting, Mr. Ahmet Aydin Dogan lauded the excellent historical ties linking Morocco to Turkey, which span more than five centuries, commending both countries' keenness to consolidate their cooperation in various fields. The Turkish Ambassador noted that the continuous consultation and constructive dialogue between the two countries led to the renewal of their free trade agreement, which serves both their interests.

At the parliamentary level, the Turkish Ambassador conveyed the invitation of the president of the Turkish Parliament to the Speaker of the House of Representatives Habib El Malki to perform a working visit to Turkey. The visit would be an opportunity to discuss the means to strengthen the friendship and cooperation ties between the legislative institutions of the two countries.

For his part, the Speaker of the House lauded the quality and solidity of the Morocco-Turkey relations. He also expressed the consideration of the Kingdom of Morocco for Turkey’s position in favor of the territorial integrity of the Kingdom, based on the constant rejection of the creation of any separatist entity. In this respect, he stated that "the two countries share a deep-rooted history and great civilization and are linked by strong common roots."

Mr. El Malki also highlighted the great economic opportunities and prospects offered by the southern regions of the Kingdom, inviting Turkish investors to explore the tremendous potential of the region and its promising economic assets, which attract more and more Moroccan and foreign businesspersons.
