Speaker of the House of Representatives Receives the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Rabat

Speaker of the House of Representatives Rachid Talbi Alami received on Monday, October 25, 2021, at the House, Mr. Abdullah bin Saad Al-Ghurairi, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Rabat.

During this meeting, the two parties commended the strong well-founded historic and brotherly ties linking the Kingdom of Morocco and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at different levels and in various fields.

The Saudi Ambassador stressed that the relations between the two countries “are deep-rooted and strategic.” He further emphasized “the unwavering stance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia concerning the Moroccan sovereignty over the Sahara and the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco.”

Mr. Abdullah bin Saad Al-Ghurairi noted that the Saudi leadership is keen on supporting and standing with the Kingdom of Morocco, adding that “we have a common destiny and we look forward to promoting our bilateral relations in all domains.”

For his part, Speaker of the House of Representatives Rachid Talbi Alami pointed out that this meeting represents the first reception he has given since his election as the Speaker of the House of Representatives, which reflects the privileged position of the Morocco-Saudi Arabia relations at all levels and the joint keenness to promote and develop them. He further added, “The two countries form two poles of security and stability.”

At the parliamentary level, the Speaker of the House of Representatives acclaimed the cooperation links between the legislative institutions of the two countries and expressed the firm will to foster them further. In this respect, he extended an invitation to his counterpart, the Speaker of the Shura Council of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to conduct a working visit to the House.

This meeting was also an opportunity to exchange points of view on ways to consolidate tourism, cultural and educational exchange between the two countries, and an occasion to discuss several issues of mutual concern.
