Speaker of the House of Representatives Receives Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami received, on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at the seat of the House, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to the Kingdom of Morocco, H.E. Mohamed Ould Hanani.

During this encounter, the two parties highly commended the quality of relations between the two countries, especially at the parliamentary level. At the same time, they both agreed to foster them on the bilateral and multilateral levels.

On the same occasion, the Speaker of the House of Representatives highlighted the importance of coordination and consultation at the parliamentary level between the two countries, expressing his desire to hold meetings and discussions with the Speaker of the Mauritanian National Assembly at the earliest opportunity. In the same vein, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami further added that the House of Representatives looks forward to advancing bilateral and multilateral parliamentary relations through the Morocco-Mauritania Parliamentary Friendship Group, which, together with its Mauritanian counterpart, will explore ways to strengthen ties between the two legislative institutions and push them to a higher level of cooperation and solidarity.

For his part, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to Rabat, H.E. Mohamed Ould Hanani, hailed the entrenchment of the Moroccan-Mauritanian relations, as reflected in the exchange of visits. He also noted the positive results of the eighth Session of the Moroccan-Mauritanian Joint High Commission and the Economic Forum, expressing his aspiration to promote bilateral and multilateral parliamentary relations at the level of the Speakership of the two legislative institutions and the parliamentary friendship groups through the exchange of visits, experiences, and permanent parliamentary coordination and communication.

The meeting between the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami, and the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to the Kingdom of Morocco, H.E. Mohamed Ould Hanani, offered the opportunity to discuss and exchange views on several issues inscribed as priorities on the agenda of bilateral and multilateral parliamentary action.
