Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami held talks on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at the seat of the House, with the Yemeni Minister for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Mr. Ahmed Awad Bin Mubarak, currently on an official working visit to the Kingdom of Morocco.
During the meeting, attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen to Rabat, H.E. Azzedine Said Al-Asbahi, the two parties discussed the means of consolidating bilateral cooperation between the two countries and several regional and international questions of mutual concern.
After highlighting the achievements of the Kingdom of Morocco in the recent years under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God glorify him, and the peculiarities of the Moroccan Parliament and electoral system, the Speaker of the House of Representatives noted that the House is willing to share its experience with the Yemeni brothers, and that it is an active member of several regional and international parliamentary bodies, organizations and fora.
On the same occasion, the Speaker of the House extended an invitation to his Yemeni counterpart to perform a visit to the Kingdom of Morocco in order to consolidate cooperation between the legislative institutions of the two countries, build bridges between their parliamentarians, and create spaces for dialogue, debate, and constant communication.
During the same meeting, the Speaker of the House thanked the Yemeni Minister for Foreign Affairs for the positive and strong stance of his country regarding the question of the Moroccan Sahara, noting that there could be no solution to the artificial conflict around the Moroccan Sahara except the one under the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco.
For his part, the Yemeni Minister for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Mr. Ahmed Awad Bin Mubarak noted that his visit to the Kingdom of Morocco aims at concluding several agreements in various areas in order to advance bilateral cooperation between Yemen and the Kingdom of Morocco. In the same respect, he commended the political positions of the Kingdom of Morocco in support of Yemen.
Besides, the Yemeni Minister for Foreign Affairs informed the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the developments of the Yemeni question.
The encounter was also an opportunity for the two parties to discuss several regional and international developments, and the role of parliaments and parliamentarians in clarifying views and positions, and solidifying dialogue.
